Hello, I got sent here by @bgrier's retweet, and I'm impressed. This is a very well-written, well-reasoned argument, and I enjoyed reading it both for the content and its rhetorical effectiveness.

I was just complaining to a friend last night how "social networking" seems to have distorted our concept of discussions on the web. Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace--while useful services--make it so easy to just post a link to interesting content without taking the time to put the link into context and explain, on a human-to-human level, why the link is interesting enough for one share with others. Many "bloggers" seem to have lost what it means to blog, really blog, and not just engage in a round-robin of links.

I'm happy whenever I come across a thoughtful, interesting blog like this one. And I've subscribed to your feed so I can read more thoughtful articles. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts instead of just your links. :)
